How do I book an appointment for myself?

In order to book an appointment, you must have an account. Click here to create an account. Once signed in:

1. Click Book an Appointment on the Home page
2. Choose Your Appointment Type: pick the test or service, then the requisition status
3. Select Location: search for or select the laboratory. Each lab shows its earliest available appointment
4. Select Time: the earliest available date is already selected. Keep it, or pick another date from the calendar, then choose an available time slot
5. Who are you booking for: select yourself. This step is skipped if your account has no family members
6. Review Your Appointment: check the details and click Confirm Appointment

Note: Once the appointment is confirmed, you can print the appointment details, or add the appointment to your Google/Apple calendar. A confirmation email will also be sent if you have email notifications enabled. A confirmation text message is sent only for Vancouver Coastal Health locations, and only if SMS notifications are enabled.

How do I book an appointment for my family member?

In order to book an appointment for your family member, you must first have an account. Click here to create an account. Once signed in:

1. Click Book an Appointment on the Home page
2. Choose Your Appointment Type: pick the test or service, then the requisition status
3. Select Location: search for or select the laboratory. Each lab shows its earliest available appointment
4. Select Time: the earliest available date is already selected. Keep it, or pick another date from the calendar, then choose an available time slot
5. Who are you booking for: select your family member. If they are not listed yet, use the Add Member card on this step to add them without leaving the booking. Note: the family member must have a different e-mail address from yours
6. Review Your Appointment: check the details and click Confirm Appointment

Why are no appointments being displayed?

This may occur because of several reasons:
• All the appointments for the date you have chosen are booked and no more appointments are available
• The laboratory you have chosen is not open on the date you selected
• You are trying to book an appointment more than 3 months in advance

How far in advance can I book an appointment?

You can book up to 3 months (90 days) in advance.

Will I get reminders for appointments I book online? If so, when and how will they be received?

Accepted Answer

A confirmation email is sent to you upon booking the appointment, as long as you have email notifications enabled. A confirmation text message is sent only for Vancouver Coastal Health locations; at every other location the confirmation comes by email. A reminder text message is also sent the day before your appointment, for every location, as long as SMS notifications are turned on and your phone number is verified. That reminder includes a link you can use to reschedule or cancel if you cannot make it.

Why did I not receive a confirmation email for my appointment?

Confirmation emails can sometimes end up in your spam folder. Check to see if it is there. To avoid this for future appointments, add noreply@labonlinebooking.ca and autoresponse@labonlinebooking.ca to your Safe Senders list.

Can I book an appointment using an alias?

Accepted Answer

No. The appointment must be made under the same name as the name on the laboratory requisition provided by the health care provider.

Will I have to disclose the nature of my tests when I book an appointment online?

No, no information about the tests ordered by your health care provider will be collected during online booking.

Is there a charge for booking online?

No, appointments are made available free-of-charge.

How do I see my or my family member's future appointments?

To view future appointments, sign in with your account. Once signed in, you will be able to view the list of upcoming appointments for you and your family member(s) on the main page.

Can I walk in instead of booking?

Accepted Answer

Booking guarantees your time slot and takes under two minutes. Lab Online Booking does not hold walk-in information, so contact your laboratory directly to ask.
