Test Requirements & Preparation
Jim Pattison Outpatient Care & Surgery Centre is trialing a new process to better manage walk-in capacity and improve access to care. Patients requiring service on a specific date are strongly encouraged to book an appointment in advance through the online booking portal. Walk-in visits remain available but are limited in availability.
Pediatric patients of Dr. Avash Singh please book M-F between 0800 and 1600. If appointments are booked outside of these times, you may be required to wait or return another day.
Bring your lab requisition, Provincial Healthcare Card and/or piece of government issued photo identification. The lab only accepts printed paper requisitions.
Fasting REQUIRED
If your test requires you to fast before:
Glucose
Lipids (Cholesterol)
Insulin
Lactose test
Fasting RECOMMENDED
While not strictly required, fasting is recommended for more accurate results for:
Iron tests
GGT
Uric Acid
Time-Specific Collection Requirements
Technique: Blood tests should be collected at a lab
Collection Time: Some tests require collection at specific times
Sample Handling: Proper handling ensures accurate results
Other Important Information
Urinalysis Morning: First morning sample preferred for accuracy
Temperature Safe Monitoring: Samples must be kept at proper temperature
Special Instructions: Follow any instructions from your doctor carefully. Bring your lab requisition.
